Mother Hunger® Immersive Retreat

Many trauma survivors hold their breath and their bodies tightly, bracing themselves for whatever is coming next. Staying alert for years takes a toll. It’s essential to have spaces where you can take your armor off.

This retreat is one of those sacred spaces.

ONE SPOT LEFT

FOR OCTOBER 2023!

October 13 – 16

Sometimes, the survival mechanisms and belief systems that help us survive our childhoods do not serve us well later in life. A therapeutic experience that is safe, enlightening, and challenging can help us heal those early wounds, reclaim the spirit that we were born with, and return us to our authentic selves. Participating in this retreat will help you recognize and remember your innate self-worth, and celebrate the whole person you were meant to be.

Aluera (uh-Lure-a) v.:  I will nourish, cherish, support, develop, connect.

Mother Hunger Trained Facilitator, Emily Grimes MSW, LCSW chose the name Aluera, Inc. for her retreat ventures. Aluera is an adaptation of the future tense Latin word ‘alere’ (to nourish, cherish, support). Latin is the foundation of the language we use to communicate. We communicate with words in order to understand concepts and connect with others. Connecting with others in relationship is how we take the first step towards our own healing.

At Aluera, Inc. we are proud to provide a gentle, supportive, and nourishing immersive healing experience at each of our retreats.  After many hours of consultation and conceptualization, Emily Grimes, MSW, LCSW has created a Mother Hunger Immersive Retreat experience based upon the world-renowned work of Copyright Kelly McDaniel, and her book “Mother Hunger: How Adult Daughters Can Understand and Heal from Lost Nurturance, Protection and Guidance” and kellymcdanieltherapy.com, All rights reserved.

Aluera, Inc. is the only clinical practice in the country offering an in-person immersive retreat for women with Mother Hunger. Our priority at these retreats is to lead you through your Mother Hunger healing journey in a safe, gentle, and nurturing environment.

The Mother Hunger Immersive Retreat includes a safe and gentle dive into the roots of our Mother Hunger and we will begin healing together in a supportive and safe environment.

In our safe container that allows for trust, connection, and respect, your most difficult issues and painful experiences can be shared and worked through at your own pace. In this healing space you will discover yourself through a community where vulnerability and honesty are valued.

Facilitated by licensed clinician Emily Grimes, MSW, LCSW, resources will be shared in a structured, informational, and instruction-based format. We will also focus on the “group process,” which involves the interpersonal interactions and dynamics of the group’s members and their individual experiences.

You will notice improved emotional regulation through dynamic interactions and reflection, learning the tools to heal from the intimate attachment injury of Mother Hunger.
